Agency Background: United Way of Tucson and Southern AZ (UWTSA) established a program in 1999 called First Focus on Kids. It focuses on improving the well-being and school-readiness of children in Pima County.
Focus of the 2011 SCCF Grant: Oro Valley & Catalina Early Childhood Program Support services for children birth to age five as well as families. Programs include the Stay & Play Group benefiting 20 families with toddlers over the course of 500 hrs of parent/child play based learning. The FTF Learning Communities, Literacy Kits and health professionals will provide outreach to the 23 identified regulated child care and early education centers in the area.
