2010 GRANT AWARD RECIPIENTS
YOUTH ON THEIR OWN (YOTO) *
Agency Background: YOTO, founded in 1986, is dedicated to support high
school graduation and continued success of homeless youth (ages 13-21) enrolled in
public school by providing financial assistance, basic human needs aid, and overall
guidance. The vision of YOTO is: To empower and to create stability in the lives of
young people on their own to become positive and productive citizens of our community.
Focus of the 2010 SCCF Grant: Monthly Stipend Program
The Monthly Stipend Program is a drop-out prevention program for homeless youth in the
Oro Valley and Tucson areas. The SCCF grant will provide a stipend for 16 students of
$125 per month for 10 months of the school year. The stipend is provided to homeless
youth who receive a grade of C or above.
